So the Belgians came. We took them in, providing luxury accommodations, including wifi and (intermittent) AC.
But soon we left Bucharest and departed towards pictoresque Costinesti. Most Romanians I talked to were surprised: “Why Costinesti, it’s filthy, take them to Mamaia instead”. But Mamaia is boring, average, uninteresting and overpriced, while Costinesti is dirty and cheap, therefore good overall value (9 euro a night accommodations).
There, we tried to make Michael feel less depressed (it seems that Belgians are very depressed, no wonder they have good beer and chocolate..). We gave him pufuleti and took him on a boat trip and even on a tyrolean crossing (although he seemed interested in other things).
Other activities: beach fight, Naz too afraid to take the tyrolean, ate hamsii, Michael-approved Belgian waffles, sun-burned, lots of dunking and scratching in the water, Cata winning money at the games room, no electricity in 2 restaurants, dogs scaring Naz, Connect-r, “Shake that money maker”.
