Granada – Kayak

We headed for the bus terminal in Leon. The nice colonial villas made way for a market that reminded us of Nepal. Took a bus to Managua and another one to Granada. Leon – Volcano Boarding

We got to Leon and we knew what we wanted to see: volcanoes! But first let’s check out what the city has to offer. It was finally a city worth seeing, unlike what we’ve experienced in Costa Rica. Ometepe Island – Scooter

Ometepe is a largish island rising from Lake Nicaragua. It’s formed by two volcanoes, Concepcion and Maderas, connected by a low isthmus. The easiest way to get there is from Rivas. From the bus terminal you have to take a taxi down to the ferry in San Jorge (about 7 km). You’ll have to haggle for the price, as the driver will ask for something like $15. We got it Continue…
