1) My class ditched me yesterday. It appears Facebook had a presentation at my faculty in the same time with my seminar, so all of my students went there. After checking out Google’s talk last year, I was curious to see what Facebook had to offer.

First 20 minutes were about what Facebook is (WTF? we know what fb is, we’re not a 3rd world country… are we?). Then another 20 minutes about system architecture… boooring, nothing interesting. Then about 40 minutes about how cool it is to work at Facebook. I’ll make a summary: “come to fb, we have FREE FOOD woooo!!!”.

2) It’s official. Shut your kids, lock your windows, hide your cars! Because my area is a bad one. I found the next sign just 200m away from me. It says (for non-Romanians): “Please don’t leave valuables in your car”. Again, for non-Romanian, valuables include money, electronics, alcohol, cigarettes, food, coupons, etc.
