When it comes to mountain biking, this is where it all started. In the 1970s, a few dudes pioneered this sport on the trails north of San Francisco.
We left the city at 5am. We had an ambitious plan: 100km (about 40-50 of them offroad) with 2000m in climbing. The weather – cold, damp, gloomy – was perfect for this!
After some warmup on the hills of Marin County, we started the ascent towards the peak of Mount Tam. As we climbed higher and higher, we finally got through the fog and enjoyed an epic view from the top.
We enjoyed an awesome descent and went again through Marin County, to complete the target of 2000m in climbing.
