This post is a little outdated, but eh… busy times. So I bought a cyclocross bike a couple months ago. Meet Pokhara:

Some of you may be wondering what’s cyclocross. In short, it’s a form of cycling that takes a road bike offroad (as you can probably see in the photo above). Still, the bike has a few adaptations, most notably grippier tyres and brakes that don’t get clogged with mud.

Pokhara’s maiden voyage was on Prahova’s hills. 60 km of empty tarmac and gentle forest roads, the perfect combination for such a bike. All of it on some nice sunny weather, riding above the low cloud cover (at the start of the month-long sunless period for Bucharest).

Also tried out a couple of tracks in the forests around Bucharest, which were maybe a tad too muddy for me.
