Night Biking in Santa Cruz

You might ask: why mountain bike at night? Answer: because you can’t do it during the day. Around Santa Cruz there are some awesome state parks with some awesome trails. But.. bummer, bikes are not allowed. Yet, the parks are closed after sunset. So at night, when there are no hikers or rangers around, seems to be the best time for riding. Alcatraz

Thanks to the nice guys at Twitter, a bunch of interns (myself included) were invited on a trip to Alcatraz. We took the tram in front of the office, enjoyed a lively old lady cursing everybody during the 30 minute ride (downtown SF is never boring), arrived at peer 20-something and boarded a ferry. 10 minutes later, we were disembarking in the Alcatraz harbor. I can’t go into the details of the projects (since it’s top secret classified work that we want to ship sometime soon), but I can say it was awesome hacking with the guys Continue…

Bike Camping in Henry Coe Park – Part 2

Set my alarm at 6am. Woke up at around 4 from the morning chill. Managed to doze off. Woke again at 5. It was breaking day and some crazy ducks or whatever they were started quacking. Managed to doze off again. The alarm rang at 6, so I hit the snooze button. Finally, I woke up and prepared breakfast. Ate, packed and went off. I barely had any water left Continue…
