Kayaking in Monterey

Saturday morning. San Francisco.

Saturday noon. Monterey. Lovely town by the ocean, with a salty smell of seaweed and lots of beaches (but hard to find parking spaces).

We rented some kayaks and went paddling around. Most exciting part was leaving or coming back to shore. We had to pay attention to the waves. The kayak renting dude at the shop: “Don’t wanna be hit by a hundred pound kayak. I can show you the scars on my feet.”

The area near the shore is a wildlife sanctuary. Besides the scores of birds, we saw otters, seals and sea lions (I think, I can’t tell the difference).
