Taiwan Day 4 – Giant man-eating snakes, beware!

Aaaand this time I’m not kidding! But let’s start with the beginning.

Left with Thierry and Maggie for Xinzhu, where we met Thierry’s friends and had a very nice lunch. All you can see on the table was around 50 euro. Even better, the center glass (with the plates) was spinning and you could eat out of everything.

Afterwards, we picked up another 2 Taiwanese friends and set off for the village of Neiwan. Saw a weird-stuff museum (and, yes, finally, that IS a man-eating snake – they even had a vintage photo on the wall with a similar snake and somebody’s body being taken out of it’s belly). We also saw an old theater (now restaurant, but they played and sold old Chinese movies) and an old bridge.

We spent the afternoon at The Lavender Cottage – a restaurant up a mountain, with a very big garden, botanical garden style, and a wishing tree. Apparently, a lot of highschoolers go there to wish for being accepted at a good college. I also put a wish in the tree (of course, world domination).
