Traveling with Turkish Airlines and having a long layover in Istanbul? Then takes advantage of their free tours.
We only had time for their short sightseeing tour. It was 2.5 hours long and it just drove us through downtown Istanbul, stopping at Galata Bridge and then at Dolmabahce Palace.
Nothing on the tour was new to us. We’ve seen Istanbul before in depth. It was time better spent than inside the airport, but I’d say not worth getting a longer layover just for this. I think this is not true for the longer tours, where you get more time to visit attractions, as well as a complimentary lunch.
