Nepal Part 12 – Welcome to Pokhara

Days 18-23 (October 5-10) Pokhara is a typical tourist town. You can stay here and have an experience similar to most tourist places everywhere. You can eat food from various cuisines. You can get cocktails and watch sporting events. You can party and buy crappy touristy things. I know this may sound boring to you, but for us, after two weeks of isolation, it was another world. Nepal Part 11 – Our Trekking Equipment

Combining these, we had a long and cold night up at Thorung High Camp. Woke up at 11 pm and checked the weather. Clear starry skies. Snowy mountain tops visible in the distance. No longer the Continue…

Nepal Part 8 – Thorung High Camp

Day 14 – October 1 Left at 7am. Finally saw Nepali wildlife: a few packs of blue sheep. Crossed another landslide area. As we were cautiously walking, one fist size rock darted just a few meters in front of us, at lightning speed. Adrenaline pumping, we sprinted for the rest of the section, as fast as you can sprint at 4400 m elevation. Started snowing like Christmas. Got Andreea in Continue…
