Not our kind of city. “Too big” is an understatement. Also we had some foggy weather at the beach. No Baywatch moment, unfortunately.

Sunny day on Highway 1. Then fog. Morro Bay. Then sun. Santa Monica. Lovely.

American roadtrip! In an american car:   First stop – Twin Peaks. Next stop – Elkhorn Slough. Highway 1 near Big Sur, at night, on fog, is an extremely fun road to drive on. 1am. Barely found a place to camp. Barbecue for breakfast.

I’m behind on this blog with waaaay too many posts. I need to speed things up. I’ll try and write with only keywords. End of August. Friday night. Foresthill, CA. Big fire. Roadblock. Saturday. Change of plans. Soda Springs, CA. Sleep in forest. Drink from river. Scare small bear. Return safely. Awesome.

If you’d like a simple mountain bike ride within San Francisco, you can try the McLaren Short Track Challenge. I went for a longer version, going into San Bruno Mountain State Park. The track is decent; it has a few sections that are a little challenging, but also a big part of it is on paved roads. The next day I went running up the hills of SF. I chose Continue…
