I came to this parade thing with no expectations. I didn’t know exactly what will happen. I also didn’t bother googling the term. What I know now (also after finally reading about it on Wikipedia) is this parade is organised by the students from a technical university in Gothenburg. They completely block the city center for an afternoon (in Romania you would be lynched by drivers if you try that during the week). And about half the city comes to see them.
